Steelers Wins AFC Crown

The Pittsburgh Steelers are going to the Super Bowl for the second time in four years with their 23-14 win over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game. The Steelers now have a chance to have the most Super Bowl victories if they win. They currently have five, and are tied with the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys. The Steelers will play the Arizona Cardinals, who won the NFC Championship Game over the Philadelphia Eagles, in Super Bowl XLIII.

The Steelers used tough defense and enough offense to beat the Ravens. Both teams came in with great defenses. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger wasn't that good, with a completion percentage under 50 percent. However, he didn't turn the ball over, a key part of the Ravens road wins over the Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans in the playoffs.

The Ravens did what they haven't done previously in the playoffs. They turned the ball over. Ravens rookie quarterback Joe Flacco threw three interceptions, and only completed 13 of his 30 pass attempts. The Ravens defensively were solid as well, but were hurt by Steelers wide receiver Santonio Holmes touchdown reception and Steelers safety Troy Polamalu interception return for a touchdown.

This was a typical Ravens against Steelers matchup. I believed the Ravens had a shot at winning the game because the Steelers offense isn't good. However, Steelers linebacker Lamar Woodley proved his point. The Steelers caused turnovers by the Ravens offense, which was the deciding factor in the game. I believe the Steelers will win the Super Bowl, behind their defensive play. The Steelers cannot win offensively because quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is not good enough.
