Colts' Sanders, Patriots' Brady Wins Player of The Year Award

Indianapolis Colts' safety Bob Sanders has won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award, while New England Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady has won the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award. Sanders, who was an important defensive player in helping the Colts win the Super Bowl last year, has been just as important this season. Sanders missed the majority of the regular season last year and came back for the playoffs. This season, he hasn't missed an important start and the defensive numbers for the Colts have improved. They gave up a league worst 5.3 yards per carry last year. This season, they gave up 3.8 yards per carry, a major improvement. They are also second in the league in passing yards per game given up. Other players who got votes is Seattle Seahawks' defensive lineman Patrick Kerney and Tennessee Titans' defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth. Brady has had an amazing offensive year this year, leading the NFL in passing yards and touchdown passes. His 50 touchdown passes this season was a single season record, surpassing Peyton Manning's 49 touchdown passes in 2004. Brady also won the NFL MVP in his record setting season, also helping the Patriots to an undefeated regular season for the first time since the Miami Dolphins did it in 1972 en route to the Super Bowl victory. Other players getting votes are Patriots' receivers Randy Moss and Wes Welker, and Green Bay Packers' quarterback Brett Favre. Did Sanders deserve the award, considering the amount of good defensive players this season? Did Brady deserve the award, considering he had great receivers?
