Maryland Stuns #1 North Carolina

In a matchup featuring ACC rivals, unranked Maryland defeated #1 ranked North Carolina 82-80 in North Carolina. It is the first loss of the season for the Tar Heels of North Carolina, who had been undefeated at 18-0 leading up to the game. The Terrapins of Maryland were struggling so far this season and was 11-7 leading up to this game. This game is an important win for Maryland for several reasons. They were able to show the country that they can compete with the best in the country. They also showed that they have enough talent to get back to the NCAA Tournament again and make a run for the ACC title in March. This was most importantly a big win for Maryland because it's a conference victory for them and a conference loss for North Carolina. North Carolina's loss won't affect them in the season if they play like they have been during the season. They have been dominant throughout most of the season and are the front runners to win the national championship. Another front runner for the national title, #4 UCLA, also lost at home to a conference rival in USC. Will these upsets keep happening in college basketball like it did in college football this past season? Will North Carolina will the national title? How good is Maryland?
